The gun that won that old Wild West

I think everyone fears death to some degree. I know I do. I'm not really afraid of the act of dieing, it's what comes after. The fear of the unknown. Most likely, I believe there will be nothingness like people explained in this topic. Just nothing. If by chance the Christianity was the correct religion out of the thousands and thousands out there, then I'm screwed. Straight to hell I go, but I wouldn't have it any other way. I want to go to hell :)

We've already not existed before, prior to our birth; Death is just that again, except permanent. There's nothing really to fear about death itself, but rather we fear being cut off from the world we became emotionally attached to. If it were possible, most of us would want to know what happens in the time after we die instead of ceasing to exist. Personally I'm confident medical science will advance enough to keep us alive (and healthy) for a lot longer than the current expected age.

I'm not really afraid of nothingness. That would be one of the most ideal scenarios in my opinion. I'm afraid of not knowing what the scenario will be. Is there heaven, hell, limbo, reincarnation, nothing? The idea of heaven actually scares me, even if it is total paradise, whatever. I can't imagine being stuck anywhere for eternity, I think I would go insane being stuck in existence.
I think if there is a "Heaven", it will most likely be like a rest stop, chill for a couple years and go back down to Earth as a new born, and around goes the cycle of life...

That for me would be awesome.
You just took the same thoughts outta my head lol. I was thinking the same exact thing on this. Think about it. We have no memories prior to when we are first born.We dont know how we were conceived, we dont know how we felt when we were conceived with the exception of our parents telling us. It takes 3 years for us for our brains to form and create memories. The nothingness hopefully and I can ONLY HOPE!! is some sort of a enormous pause that occurs and then if the theory of the cycle of life is actually true then our spirits travel for a period of time until we enter into a new born baby or a new born animal. The only thing i fear about this is the loved ones the good times and all of the cherished memories with friends and other family. That would probably be my biggest fear is questioning will i ever see the ones that I have lost again.

Any creature capable of conscious thought fears death, Simple way of proving it.... Put a gun to an animals head, Does it run away in fear? Probably not, It doesn't know what a gun can do.

At times though there are moments when I wonder what happens in the moments preceding death, Not sure if I'm alone on that, Might just be my curiosity. Other than that, I fear death.
